Hi my names Jade, alongside modelling I work as a nursery nurse with children from 3 months to 4 years, and I am a qualified teaching assistant. I plan to carry on training and just gain as many childcare qualifications as I can, as I cant rely on modelling to pay for all the bills for the rest of my life! I really enjoy modelling, especially fashion shoots and enjoy trying new ideas! I joined The Kerri Parker Academy to get some extra help with my modelling, I had done a few shoots but was looking to progress further in the industry. The advice I found on there was really helpful and I made loads of new friends on there. I entered a few of The Model of the Year rounds, and a couple of months later I won the Miss June Model of the Month contest to go to the final! The public chose me as their winner out of over 60 girls! Before the finals, I was going to the gym everyday, training at Fitness First who sponsor The Model of the Year final. I had my own personal trainer once a week to help me get ready, and I felt on the day of the final that I had more confidence as I had worked hard in the gym to tone up! I had alot of support from friends and family and on the night of the final, having almost 100 people turn up to cheer me on!! It was the best feeling having the loudest cheers as i came out on stage. When Kerri and Rob Lamarr announced the top 5, I thought there was no way my name would be called out, then they called my name as the last person in the top 5, which that completely shocked me! Then they announced the 3rd place as Emma Watts, 2nd place which was a joint win for my friends Nicola Peck and Rebecca Codling, and it was just me and Academy girl Kay Blackett standing hand in hand waiting for the winner to be called! I was thinking there is no way I will ever win, so when they called out my name it was the biggest shock ever, and I think you can see on some of my images from the final how shocked I was! Since I won I did a christmas lingerie shoot with Kerri and some lingerie images for my website with Ekiko and photographer Lee Harvey. I have also done a shoot for Blackberry with my phone I won, and had various other shoots. I was picked by Kerri to work at Mallory Park for the opening round of the Thundersport GB racing series, appearing as a Grid Girl on the track and take part in press shoots and handing out the awards. I appeared on the Motors TV channel on several shows for the week as one of the exclusive Grid Girls for Thundersport and the Academy and will be working for them again later this year! My hopes for this year are more paid modelling jobs and to gain more exposure, I will be appearing at several Academy Model Tutorial Days and events leading up to the 2009 final, judging heats and promoting the next competition. You'll see me on stage this November and on all of the associated press leading up to the big night when I will crown the next Model of the Year winner! I can be booked for work through the Academy or Kerri's new agency Kerri Parker International, click here to see me on their website. I am looking to build my portfolio up and gain more experience whilst doing my training, I won't be giving up my day job to become a model full time but I'm glad I've had this opportunity to fulfill my dreams in the modelling industry as well!
